How do you work on keeping a spirit of peace in your music career and life? On this episode, Beth & Cayla, our community managers in our Female Indie Musician Community, talk about how to avoid burnout during this busy holiday season. With gigs to play, gifts to buy and all the other things to keep up with, how can we still find peace and joy?

As musicians and individuals, the holidays is a very busy time of the year. It can be overwhelming. So we would like to talk about how we can deal with that and keep our peace.

1. Examine why you are not feeling a spirit of peace.

Is it something that is overwhelming you as of the moment? Are you comparing yourself to somebody else? Find out what it is that is causing your lack of peace and frustration.

2. Change your environment if it is causing a lack of peace.

You may not realize it but clutter is something that robs your peace. Sometimes the outside looks good and the inside is nasty. You may realize that it is also how you feel about your life. Instead of decluttering your house the whole day, you can do it at least 15 minutes a day if you feel you don’t have time to do it.

3. Change your relationships if they’re causing a lack of peace.

We may not be able to change who our parents are, our children, or our spouse, but we can change our boundaries and how we deal with our relationships. We can also cut off some toxic relationships we have in our life.

“If at all possible, be at peace with people.”

4. Change your expectations if they’re causing a lack of peace.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Each of us have circumstances different from one another.

5. Change your perspective if it’s causing a lack of peace.

Knowing your own limitations and moving within that realm while challenging yourself is key.
