Gabi Huckins was with us today to talk about how to plan profitable mini tours. Gabi comes with loads of experience managing bands and planning tours. Starting out as a teenager, Gabi currently works in commercial music but her side hustle consists of managing and consulting with bands helping them plan mini tours.

While there is a time and place for free gigs (Gabi goes into that too!), Gabi is hosting a masterclass this Saturday at Musicpreneurhub to teach you how to make a profit from mini tours. Join us on Saturday for the masterclass that comes with accountability and support for 100 days following the course. With my special code, you will receive $20 OFF and there is also a 30 minute one on one session with Musicpeneurhub.com head, Tommy for the first 20 people who sign up using the code. You won’t want to miss this!

Getting started planning a mini tour

  • First know why you are planning a tour.
  • Know where do you want to play.
  • Get to know promoters.
  • Know what size venue you should play at.

Venues to look for

  • Research where similar artists play.
  • Chat with people at those venues.
  • Be risky and talk to people.
  • Nontraditional music venues are looking for artists.

Roadblocks to Avoid

  • Undervaluing or overvaluing yourself. Know your worth.
  • Be smart if you work with a promoter (avoid pay to play schemes).
  • Endorsements (understanding payment terms).
  • Remember the costs associated with playing (travel, eating, crew, etc)  and invoice the promoter as if it is regular work. Will you be paid enough to cover expenses and make a profit?

Music students coming out of college

  • More aware of things to avoid.
  • Have experience.
  • Well lectured.

Join us this Saturday for Gabi’s masterclass where you will learn the ins and outs of profitable mini tours and what you need to do to get started. It comes with 100 days of accountability following the course and the first 20 people to sign up with this link, will get a free 30 minute slot with the head of musicpreneurhub.com.
